If we go down into ourselves, we find that we possess exactly what we need-Simone WeilThis fall has been busy and I have struggled with how to blog at any regular interval. That would not be bad if I did not "need" the encouragement that a regular practice can provide. So, I am toying with the idea of much smaller and more frequent sort of posts. I am thinking about super short posts on compassionate eating, recipes, yoga/relaxation tips, poems, and other interesting things. Not sure how this will play out but I don't seem to have the time that writing essays requires and seem to get in this all or nothing mind frame. What do you think about that format dear readers? How do you keep your blogging fresh and authentic, if you blog?
In the meantime, enjoy these outtakes from my "Saturday in the City" with B{that's his shoe in the corner}.

Made a version of these this weekend. Yummy, if you like chickpeas and sandwiches.
Finished reading this delightful book.
Finally realized that my YMX giveaway was over. Told you these were crazy times! Congrats to the lovely Charlotte, of My Pixie Blog-email me your snail mail address asap.
Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love short posts. It really makes it easier when I have to read a lot of posts.
I know what you mean, because I'm totally going through the same thing. I have a hard time keeping up with a blogging schedule and it seems to change constantly. But I like the idea of tackling smaller, more succinct posts. Makes the idea of writing a lot more manageable and I'm sure you'll find a groove with your writing... And I'll for sure keep coming back to read :) Awwwww, YAY!!! I WON! That's such great news. Snail mail coming your way, love. XOXO and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI am so swamped with my various ventures and getting back to my art that I barely have much time to blog anymore. And the sad part about it is that I feel obligated to blog regularly because I'm getting more paid sponsors. One thing that is helping me is to write my blog post in advance and schedule them to post automatically. And, like you, I've decided to post shorter and more frequent posts.
ReplyDeleteIn writing, I like the challenge of saying more with less. The older I get, the more my speaking follows that pattern as well. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for my blog posts, short and sweet is all I have time for these days.
As for reading the posts of others, I prefer a combo of short and sweet writing with photos to enhance the written content.
I like that idea a lot, though I do love your long posts too :) Just go with whatever feels right for you. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI've been having a hard time lately finding time to blog as well. But I can assure you that however your post, I will love and follow. You give me such inspiration! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI'm going through the same thing right now, trying to find the balance between staying active with the blog - and staying active with my "real" life (ok I know blogging is "real", but you know what I mean). I'm debating posting less often and keeping with the essay format though....but your method seems more reasonable for a life on the go. Looking forward to seeing how it develops for you!
ReplyDeleteshort comments are just as powerful as long ones. do what you can, we will support you and love you no matter what =)
