A Reminder of Sorts

Sometimes a reminder helps. Here are a few things to tuck in your heart.

*You are never alone

*We are all doing the best we can

*It's going to be okay

What else do we need to recall?

Have a peachy weekend, dear ones!

Listening

There has been a situation going on in my life that I've needed to put my ear to and listen.

Deeply listen.
Not only to my own frayed expectations.
Or dreams of another.

No, I needed to listen to my own inner inspirer.
When I put an ear to her
I heard unexpected dreams

Things buried deeply in my heart calling for fruition.
So it begins

One small step towards
What is and one
Big step away from what
Was.

Getting to Good

Lately, I have been thinking about the ingredients of "good" life. Or rather, I have been refining my thinking on the subject. I admit it is hard to unravel from what people have told me would enhance my life to what really adds true depth to my living. I suppose it will take a lifetime of grappling to get "there".

However, in the meantime, I am looking at the small question. What makes me happy despite any iinterior or exterior circumstance. The list is small but true.
-a loving touch
-laughing
-fresh, hardy food
-pockets of quiet
-adventure

What's on your list?

P.S. Speaking of good stuff. I recently tried out this and this and loved it. Super comfy. Leave a comment, by November 7th{12 a.m.est} for a chance to win your own version.
P.S.S. Loving this advice about getting your yoga groove back.

A Fall Healing List

The fall is my favorite time of year but it can also wear me out. I have to be mindful of my mood as the days get shorter. So, I have assembled a little list of healing reminder for the fall to foster a dash of healing.

-Get some sun. I have found even 15 minutes a day can make a difference. If you are unable to be out in the sun, try a sun lamp.

-Build in walking or biking in your day. I try to do as many errands as possible by parking at a central location and walking. It's a great way to get exercise and sun.

-Lemon/ginger tea
Place 2 thin slices of lemon, 1/4 teaspoon of grated or ground ginger and 1 teaspoon of honey. Pour boiling water over the mixture. Let cool to your comfort and drink. Adapted from the Rhythm of Family.

-Nurture compassion through meditation. Lately, I have been listening and practicing with this cd.

-Eat grounding foods. This differs from person to person and even day to day. Lately, I've been craving kale and oatmeal.

-Rosemary hair products. I use a dash of this. Rosemary is a natural mood booster, too.

-I'm of a firm belief that there is little a good laugh(or hug)can't cure. Laugh lots(hug more)

What are some of your favorite healing activities for fall?

P.S. I hope to be back to blogging and visiting soon. Bear with me.

A Scant Return

Life has been a bit busy the last few weeks and I have been a little absent in these parts.

I've finally moved{again} and unpacked. My days are getting some rhythm back to them and for that I am thankful.
---
I am starting to fall back in love with ordinary life. The thing about love is that it's exquisite and wondrous but feels so commonplace, like one's own skin.

I imagine these sunny days with a touch of chill are the perfect setting for a life affair to ignite.

---
It is not all roses but what is.
I am experimenting with silence, romance and baking these days. For me, these have always been wild untamed areas in my life.

Then again, I suppose anything pregnant with possibility is that way. So the whole of life underneath the surface must be moaning and singing with fire.

P.S.Join me next week for a giveaway.
