Bright Spot, an Ode to Space

I am sitting at my new work area. The place off the kitchen, tucked in a cozy corner of the apartment. A place that I can see outside but also be close enough to get a cup of tea in mere seconds.  I've always knew that one should have a work spot to dream or create.

According to one of my favorite college professors{and Virginia Woolf}, women(and men) need a space to create, even if all you have is a notebook. I've always had desk and spaces and hardly used them. They have been unintentional and obligatory spaces.  Places for class work. However, this time it was intentional.

When we moved, we debated if we would have a traditional sit down dining room and decided to forgo that because we are just not into that style of entertainment.. Instead, we planned on putting our desks  there. The space was much larger in our minds than it was in reality. B. suggested that I take the space and the he take another space. It worked out perfectly because my desk is smaller and the space he got was perfect for all his stuff.

Anyway, I've set up my space and it just feels good.  This area is purely for me. My new job is not a take it home  sorta job. So everything I do in this space will be my own. I've got no homework, so to speak. Just me, my tools and the promise to show up.

What's your thoughts on space and creativity?
