Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” -Mother TheresaFor once in a very long time, my days have some predictability. As much as I disdain routine, I appreciate it. I think our daily rounds comfort us and set the stage.
There are many rituals I love. It's my inner librarian, what can I say.
Nothing extraordinary here but these things had a certain element to the day.
-Cats awaking me each morning. Actually, my littlest Ms.Cat is great for getting me out of bed. She won't leave me alone until I'm up.
- Morning tea with b.
- Gathering my lunch for work. Usually left overs or rice and greens.
-Getting to know my new co-workers.
-Reading for pleasure after work. I am reading seriously frivolous things and loving it.
-Loading the dishwasher after dinner. A clean kitchen just makes me happy.
-Writing in my journal. Not three pages but a few sentences to keep track and in touch with my inner self.
-Deep relaxing yoga poses. I am really into restorative poses lately and they tend to help me wind down.
What simple rituals are nurturing you lately?
P.S. Have a sweet weekend!
For me the most important ritual in the morning is a cup of tea. It always gives me a positive way to start the day. Also a quiet breakfast is essential for me.
ReplyDeleteI love the basic rituals, too. The familiar voices on the radio that lull me out of bed; the cup of coffee that greets me. I have also incorporated more meditation into my everyday routine and it's helped me immensely.
