viewing this year

finally, back to what i hope is ordinary life
between-travel, altered work schedules and the time change
life was one big car for a while
happy to say, it's back to being a compact{for the moment}

i've decided to allow myself a little slack about choosing
a grand adventure for this year
i have loose idea of some things i want to
do
like learn how to use chopsticks properly
or  finish my blue beret ,
 volunteer more
 &
get to the beach
but nothing binding
nothing concrete, really
just aspirations for the most good and least harm
in whatever i do

what about you? any big plans for the upcoming year?

  1. I think those aspirations are quite perfect. I am trying to focus on blooming for myself. Becoming everything I can right where I am. Good luck with the beret and chopsticks though

  3. I'm happy to help you with the chopsticks -- I do use them pretty well, but I will also eat copious amounts of chinese food or japanese food...or any other food that involves chopsticks. And volunteering too -- I'm so down for that. I've been trying to find some volunteer opportunities myself, but nothing quite fits into my schedule yet.

i think asian food tastes better with chop sticks, so it's definitely worth learning :)
my year is (surprisingly) not completely planned out yet, i hope it'll stay like this for a while.

  5. My brother and his family live in Japan. My daughter (who will be two on SU) got a pair of trainer chopsticks for Christmas. We haven't used them yet, so we need to order some Chinese food! Thanks for visiting my random thoughts today.

  6. Those aspirations are great. Me, I am working around the word "sow" this year...as in growing and nurturing my community. So far it is going well :)

  7. Lovely aspirations. I just read a piece on Martha Beck's site about keeping resolutions simple and small - that way you are so much more likely to achieve them. I have chosen a word for this year, though. Brave. So that's what I'm trying to be. :)

  14. Keishua, thanks for stopping by my blog. I am enjoying getting to know your space. I don't think there has to be any hard and fast rules about resolutions. As long as you have visions for happiness it will manifest.

I like your idea (you left in your comment) about only buying thrift this year if you have to buy. I think I will add that to my list.

    Happy New Year!
